GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
How you can participate
Join the #SupportASeafarer event
1. Go to Facebook.com/seafarershouseFL/events and RSVP ” going” to our Facebook Event.
2. Invite your friends
3. Follow our tips on how to support the event!
Create a fundraiser
1. Visit Facebook.com/seafarershousefl/fundraisers Monday, November 30th or early Tuesday, December 1st to create a fundraiser.
2. Click the Raise Money button
3. Set a goal for a 1-day fundraiser!
4. Set an end date of 2 December 2020
5. Name it #SupportASeafarer this #GivingTuesday
6. Describe why you’re raising money:
Seafarers’ House provides year round spiritual care and practical support to tens of thousands seafarers that come through Port Everglades. These seafarers spend months away from home and their families, sometimes in dangerous conditions, to bring us 90% of what we use every day. Join me in telling them that they matter and we care!
7. Upload a photo – you can download a Seafarers’ House Giving Tuesday fundraiser cover photo here.
Use our #GivingTuesday profile frame
- Go to www.facebook.com/profilepicframes.
- Click your profile picture in the bottom left and select your Page.
- Search for our frame by entering Seafarers’ House.
- Choose the frame and hit “Use As Profile Picture”.
Tell your friends!
Nothing is a powerful as information!
