Seafarers’ House is pleased to announce it has hired Jennifer Stewart, CFRE, as its new development director. Jennifer has more than a dozen years of experience leading development efforts at a number of South Florida-based nonprofit organizations.
Jennifer comes to Seafarers’ House from the Community Foundation of Broward, where she served as Chief Stewardship Officer. Prior to that, she served as development director for Children’s Harbor in Pembroke Pines, where she grew its donor base by nearly 150 percent. Jennifer also served as both development director and grant manager for Women in Distress in Fort Lauderdale.

Her impressive track record in fundraising will help to bring us to the next level and allow us to continue to grow the many critical services that we provide to the South Florida maritime community,” said Seafarers’ House Executive Director Lesley Warrick. “In addition, her South Florida roots run deep and she has a well-established network of community connections that will help us to create new and exciting partnerships.”
Jennifer is a graduate of Florida International University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in hospitality management. She also is a graduate of Leadership Broward, a 32-year-old leadership and training organization, and was recognized as the 2014 Outstanding Fundraising Executive by the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Broward County. Jennifer and her husband Tom live in Dania Beach with their 19-year old daughter and 13-year old son.
